He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Edgar and Elizabeth Young Adcock of Henderson, NC.. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Craig (Michelle) and Amy Bardos (Rick); his grandchildren, Justin Adcock, Scott Adcock, Katie Bardos and Emily Bardos; and his brother Shelton Adcock.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home (1051 Durham Rd, Wake Forest, NC 27587). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Sherwood.
