She was predeceased by: her parents, Boyd Idol and Mamie Idol; her daughter Phyllis Oldham; her brothers, Aldon and Manyon Idol; and her granddaughter Angela Barlow.
She is survived by: her children, Terri Adams (John), Janet Guthrie and Tim Oldham (Tammie); her granddaughters, Traci Josey and Sarah Paschall (Josh); her great grandchildren, Kenan, Ashlyn, Caleb, Adalynn, Bennett and Nora Claire; her brother Olin Idol (Myra); and her friend Shirley Wess.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Gospel Light Baptist Church, 890 Walkertown Guthrie Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
