He was predeceased by: his wives, Beulah Swaim Vanhoy and Barbara Jean Vanhoy; his parents, John William Vanhoy, Sr. and Avalee Lasley Vanhoy; his granddaughter Holly Webster; and his siblings, Mary Frances Dean and Vernon Vanhoy.
He is survived by: his children, William Alfred "Al" Vanhoy (Sally), Kenneth B. Vanhoy (Laura), Dale Charles Vanhoy (Sonia) and Dana Webster (Howard); his grandchildren, John Vanhoy, Eric Vanhoy (Leanne), Noah Frazier-Logue, Evan Vanhoy (Hope), Emily Flynt (Austin) and Will Webster; and his great grandchildren, Lane Vanhoy, Mason Vanhoy and Brett Vanhoy.
