He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Shaffer and Gladys Nelson Shaffer. He is survived by: his wife Carol Amburn Shaffer; his children, Teresa Shaffer (Leslie) of Walkertown and Shawn Shaffer (Charlotte) of Walkertown; his sisters, Lorene Barnes of Sparta and Shirley Sweeney of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren, Andrew Shaffer, Lydia Shaffer and Hailey Grooms; and his great grandchildren, Ivy Griffith, Raheem Fisher, Rumii Shaffer, Waylon Grooms and Patsy Grooms.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home (201 W Center St, Galax, VA 24333). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel (201 W Center St, Galax, VA 24333).
