She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Mintz and Florence Benton Mintz. She is survived by: her husband George W. Piner; her children, Sheila Gates Bill, George Piner (Christy) of Kinston, Darlene Blanton, Arlene Blanton (Tommy) of Watha and Jennifer Brown (Van) of Pink Hill; and her sister Rochelle Piner. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
