He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his children, Toni (Sharon) and Terri (Joel); his grandchildren, Matthew Merritt (Jennifer) and Tracy M. Johanson (Captain P. J.); his great grandchildren, Haylee, Piper Johanson and McKenzie Merritt; his stepsons, Martin Futrell (Victor) and Chad Futrell (FangFang); his daughter Emerson; and his brothers, Billy Ray Merritt and Alton Gray Merritt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
