He is survived by: his wife Susie Mercer; his children, Bridgette Mercer of Wilson, Wade Mercer of Wilson and Steve Ford (Crystal) of Walstonburg; his sister-in-law Lisa May (Ervin); his niece Lindsey May; his grandchildren, Amyah Ford, Taboris Bynum, Isabella Ford, Levi Ford and Matthew Mercer; his great grandchild Aubree Bynum; and his close friend Sherry Mercer. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Mercer Family Cemetery (1555 Mercer Rd, Walstonburg, NC 27888).
