It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William K. Johnson of Walstonburg, North Carolina, who passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid adieu to William's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration William has bequeathed us. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ann Best and Harold Best; his brother Bob Johnson; and his son David Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Shelby Johnson; his children, Terry Hayes and Brenda Frizzelle (Michael); his brother-in-law Jimmy Lowery; and his siblings, Vickie Sharpe (Tracy), Robbie Best (Kim) and Wayne Best (Kim). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 nieces, 1 nephew, 10 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew.
