He is survived by: his wife Harriet Walton; his sister JoAnne Dickinson; his daughter Erica Walton; his stepchildren, Catherine Sellers (Van), Jay Roberson (Larisa), Celia Walsh, George Bishop (Trish) and Dale Bishop (Erin); and his stepgrandchildren, Will Bishop and Mavis Bishop.
A memorial gathering was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Twiford Funeral Homes (500 Budleigh St, Manteo, NC 27954). Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wanchese Community Building (295 Old Schoolhouse Rd, Wanchese, NC 27981).
