He is survived by: his wife Mary Katherine DeLay Dawes; his children, Charles Eric Dawes (Crystal) of Tusquittee and Shannon Marie Dawes McMahan (Robert) of Azel, Texas; his grandchildren, Charles Wade, Rebecca, Stephanie, Connor, Elise and Erin; and his great grandchild Rylan.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Granny's Attic in Hayesville or Mountain Presbyterian Chruch in Blairsville.
