Kearney, Jr. of Warrenton, Dr. Rhonda Kearney of Manson, Jackie Ann Boggs (Johnny) of Knightdale and Jocelyn Kearney-Thornton (Michael) of Raleigh; his grandsons, Isaac, Demetric, Ethan, Torrance and Christian; his siblings, Emanuel Amos Kearney, Jr. of Carrboro and Myrtle Davis Hawkins of Norlina; and his siblings-in-law, Lenton M. Moye (Pamela) of LaGrange, Julia M. Wooten (Murthis) of LaGrange, Dr. Janet M. Cornick of Columbia and Mary C. Moye of Grifton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, students and friends.
