He is survived by: his son Mario L. Simes (Brittany) of Henderson; his grandchildren, Jade Simes of Durham and Malik Simes of Warrenton; his siblings, Mamie "Bunk" Kearney of Paterson, Bertha Massenburg of Paterson, Connie Simes of Warrenton, Carletta Simes of Warrenton, Johnny Simes (Shirley) of Warrenton and Marvin Townes of Washington, D. C.; his brother-in-law Jasper Southerland of Norlina; and his close friend Alonzo Richardson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
