He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Junior Tyer and Ruth Mae Manning Tyer. He is survived by: his wife Doris Wiggins Tyer; his daughter Barbara Tyer Ward (Tony); his grandchildren, Lauren Ward and Toni-Lynn Speer (Steven); his daughter Carol Tyer Davis (Danny); his grandchildren, Travis Dixon (Stephanie), Tyndall Davis (Emily), Cara Hallow (Chandler) and Elbert Tyer (Victoria) of Washington; Edward Tyer (Lillie) of Washington. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Paul Funeral Home & Crematory (900 John Small Ave, Washington, NC 27889). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers to honor Billy, memorials may be made to Riverview Baptist Church, 6228 Clarks Neck Road, Washington, NC 27889.
