Charlie Lee Smith Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charlie Lee Smith of Washington, North Carolina, who passed away on January 27, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Skinner Smith and Frances Brickhouse Smith; his wife Janice Smith; his former wife Mary Howell Smith; his sons, Charles Steven Smith and Eddie Lee Smith; and his brother Thelbert Smith.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Donnie Smith, Shannon Smith and Thomas Smith; and his stepdaughters, Margaret Wainwright (Allen) of Chocowinity and Joyce Baker of Chocowinity. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Harbor Light Holiness Church or to the Harvest Children's Home.
