He was predeceased by: his wife JoAnn Whitaker Ward; his parents, Demby Ward and Lillian Ward; and his sister Betty Ward Jenkins. He is survived by: his sons, Dale Ward of Rocky Mount, NC and Drew Ward of Aiken, SC; his sisters, Frances Latham (Dal) and Gail Windley (Joe); his close friend Marie Skinner; and his caregiver Diane Laws. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
