It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathy Phelps (Washington, North Carolina), who passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Phelps and Violet Ambrose Woodley; her siblings, Chuck Phelps, Linda Phelps and Jackie Smith; and her grandson Zayn.
She is survived by: her daughters, Heather Hendershot (Kevin) of Winston Salem, NC and Jessica Dyson (Terry) of New Bern, NC; her sister Betty Makua (Malcolm) of Washington, NC; and her grandchildren, Maeson, Nuryn, Aleigha, Harper, Grayson, Kayden, Paisley and Rylee.
