With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lexa Edwards Upton McMicken (Washington, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 3, 2025 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elbert Edwards and Thelma Toler Edwards. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Brittany Fennell, Crystal Edwards, Christian and Bree Naiman; her stepgrandchildren, Benjamin, Jonathan and Chris McMicken; her siblings-in-law, Ida Edwards, Dolores Mayo, Sendelia Gennantonio (Danny) and Dale Upton; her niece Ann Marie Crisp (Jesse); her great-nephew Andy; her nephew Chris Edwards (Stephanie); her great-nephew Brian; and her aunt Evelyn Edwards. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Edwards Upton McMicken's Funeral Service (10182 Cherry Run Rd, Washington, NC 27889). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Edwards Family Cemetery.
