He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Hill Alligood and Mamie Jackson Alligood; his son Duane Thomas Alligood; and his sisters, Linda Sheppard and Lyda Adams.

He is survived by: his nephews, Shawn Galloway, Richie Alligood, Timmy Alligood, Scotty Harding, Glen Sheppard, Jr., Travis Cherry and Matthew Lewis; his spouse Barbie Doll (Barbara "Barbie" Elzey); his son David Allen Dew, II (Connie) of Bayview; his grandchildren, Noel Dew and Dawson Jackson; his siblings, Ray Alligood (Brenda), Peggy Cherry, Marie Galloway (Bill), Edna Sheppard (Jerry) and Dorothy Lewis; and his niece Valerie Cherry.
