He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Brownie Meekins and Donnie Del Woolard Meekins; and his siblings, Jim Meekins, Brownie Meekins, Leary Meekins, Del Jean Woolard and Alice Cherry.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Gurganus; his son David Meekins (Paula) of Washington; his grandchildren, Colby Meekins (Darien) of Washington and Kelsey Respess (Matt) of Pinetown; and his great grandchildren, Tyler Respess and Easton Respess.
