She was predeceased by: her parents, Marshall Francis and Nettie Brittle Francis; her husband Samuel R. "Bud" Fowle, III; and her siblings, Violet Timberlake, Dorothy Roberson, Kathleen Johnson and Joe Francis.
She is survived by: her children, Samuel R. Fowle, IV (Christine) of Southern Pines, John M. Fowle (Susan) of Greenville and Frannye Fowle of Washington; her grandchildren, Marshall Fowle (Jenny), Elizabeth Fowle and Mary Margaret Fowle Alligood (Thomas Alligood); her great grandchildren, Jack Fowle and Whit Alligood; and her sisters, Kay Dunlap and Una Thompson.
