Sonja Taylor Griffin Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sonja Taylor Griffin of Washington, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 31, 2025 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Eli and Ida Elizabeth Powell Taylor; her husband Marion Carroll Griffin of Robersonville; and her siblings, Ruth Muriel Parker, Betty Lou Young, Barbara Harris and Gilbert "Tommy" Taylor.

She is survived by: her daughters, Harriet Carol Griffin (Sherry Salyer) and Laura Griffin Hicks; her son-in-law Allen Hicks; her grandchildren, Carter Hicks (Emma Brown) of Durham and Emily Hicks of Raleigh; and her sister Diane Boone of Shallotte. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
