It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viva Dean Watson of Washington, North Carolina, who passed away on December 23, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Daniel Alligood and Ruth Asby Alligood; and her brothers, Ronald, Donald and Harold Alligood.
She is survived by: her husband Franklin Roosevelt Watson; her children, Jeanne Watson Woolard (David E. Sr.) of Washington and Dean Watson (Tiffany Godley) of Chocowinity; her siblings, Melvin Alligood of Chocowinity, Kay Latham of Washington, Faye Alligood of Washington, Linda Alligood of Washington and Sandie Alligood of Chocowinity; her grandchildren, Kelsey Faulkner, Kristin Ramirez, Sarah Yaeger, David Woolard, Jr., Amanda Lawerence, Mark Godley, Jr., Michael Godley and Matthew Godley; her great grandchild Emilia Dean Yaeger; and her caregivers, Taniesha Smith, Diane Laws, Dasijia Green, Jennifer Hopkins, Sylvia Windley, Kalonda Harvey and Shelia Lassiter.
