He was predeceased by: his parents, French Scott and Rachel Scott; his siblings, Joyce Owens and Michael Scott; and his son-in-law Jeffrey Scott Zawicki.
He is survived by: his wife Yaxin Scott of Hobgood; his daughters, Gwen Scott Zawicki of Clayton and Chanda Scott Beach (Freddy) of Williamston; his stepdaughter Wang Xue Ying (Wang Hao); his granddaughter Katie Beach (Christian Joyner); his stepgranddaughter Wang Zi Qi "Rachel"; his grandsons, Brandon Beach (Libbi) and Jeffrey Scott Zawicki, Jr. (Audrey); his great grandchildren, Navy Scott Beach and Hendrix Zawicki; and his brother Richard Scott (Liz). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
