It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Lee Strain of Washington, North Carolina, who passed away on September 16, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. As William departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved William. Though William may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Odell Strain and Snowdean Hawkins Strain; and his siblings, Steven Hollowell, Charlene Casper and Belinda Lilley.
He is survived by: his wife Lorrie R. Strain; his children, Charlie Edson (Khristie) of Washington, John Strain (Eva) of Hertford, Marshall Butler of Chocowinity, Angela Jones (Christopher) of Chocowinity and Lisa Simmons (Joshua) of Washington; and his brothers, Wayne Hollowell of Smithfield, VA, Donald Hollowell of Elizabeth City and David Hollowell of Chesapeake, VA..
