She was predeceased by: her parents, Percy Phillips and Ida Stanton Phillips; her brother Percy; and her husband Bud. She is survived by: her children, Marlene Staples (Mark), Julie Staples (Tim) and Craig Woods (Brenda). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hermon Baptist Church (9713 Lancaster Hwy, Waxhaw, NC 28173). A burial will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at the same location. Health problems and the pandemic changed that, but Gladys continued at home with a prayer ministry.
