She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha Jane Drakeford and Cleveland Massey; and her sons, Kenneth Tay Hoyte, Jr. and Malcolm Hoyte (Keyna Hoyte) of Indian Land. She is survived by: her daughter Lisa Sutton of Delaware; her daughter-in-law Kali Hoyte (late Kenneth Hoyte, Jr.) of Oklahoma; her grandchildren, India Sutton, Talibah Al Nur, Kenneth Hoyte III, Dometre Mobley (Chardae), William Haywood Jr., Destinay Hoyte, Tiana Haywood, Kyra Hoyte, Timothy Hoyte, Khalil Hoyte and Kaleb Hoyte; and her great grandchild Choco.
