She was predeceased by: her parents, Col. Gregory J. McDermott and Margaret C. McDermott of Rehoboth Beach, DE; her sisters, Carolyn M. McDermott (Fred Shuker) and Christine M. McDermott of Spies, NC; and her pets, Barney, Malone, Murphy, Teddy, Allie and Andy.
She is survived by: her siblings, Ellen M. McDermott of Louisburg, NC and Hank McDermott of Lahaina, HI.; her nephews, Matthew Rickards of Spies, NC and Robert Eckhardt (Adrienne); her great-niece Madeleine; her great-nephew James of Pittsford, NY; her nieces, Dr. Cynthia Harker (Christopher Whalen) of France and Christie Heynen (Jeffrey); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Benjamin, Cate and Natalie of Wake Forest, NC; her niece Katie O'Barr (Joseph); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jordan (Alexis), Gavin and Ryan of Chesapeake Beach, MD; her niece Beth Harker (Donovan Wong); her great-nephew Nolan; and her great-niece Mae of Los Angeles, CA.
