With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Arvil Freeman of Weaverville, North Carolina, born in Madison, North Carolina, who passed away on October 21, 2021 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gladys Cooper Freeman and Jackie Louise Freeman; his siblings, Gordon, Wade, Carmen Freeman, Nina Roberts, Helen Rasberry, Blanche Bradley and Lois Freeman; his siblings' children, Terry Freeman and Tina Bradley; his wife Jackie Silver Freeman; his children, Melissa Worley of Weaverville and Jimmy Dendy (Isobel) of Florida; his grandchildren, Kristina Proffitt Platt (Jesse) and Mitchell Proffitt; and his great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Jacob, Isaiah, Nevaeh, Malachi, Eliakim Platt, Jaxon and Camilia Proffitt.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be given at http://www.folkheritage.org for the preservation of "Arvil's Heritage" at the Mountain Dance and Folk Festival.
