He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Boyd Robinson and Edith Carolee Robinson; his brothers, Bill and David Robinson; and his sons, Michael Robinson and Ricky "Big Rick" Scott (Vona) of Woodfin.
He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Thomas Robinson; his children, Christine "Buttons" Thomas, Mary Edwards (Larry) of Leicester, Gary Scott (Carolyn) of Leicester and Johnny Scott (Norma) of Leicester; his siblings, Doris Hensley (Larry) of Alexander, Ina Mae Hodge (Lonnie) of Jacksonville, Florida and Henry "Boogie" Robinson of Cowpens; and his sister-in-law Beverly Weems of Asheville. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
