He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harrison and Lula Gillespie Sexton; and his wife Betty Sexton. He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Stowe (Billy) of Weaverville, NC, Pamela McCurry (Art) of Greenville, SC, Timothy Sexton (Tammie) of Shallotte, NC and Julie Eggers (Don) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his grandson Jeremy Stowe; and his children, Zachary (Skylar), Elizabeth, Meredith, Bridget Gossett (Dan), Jamie Sexton, Nicholas Stowe (Jaime), Rachel Houck (Jason), Michael Lee (Deana), Hillary Shockley (Leland) and Christopher Sexton (Leah).
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Weaverville United Methodist Church (85 S Main St, Weaverville, NC 28787). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Flowers are appreciated and memorial donations may be made to the Senior Wellness Program, First Baptist Church, Weaverville.
