He was predeceased by: his mother Sadie Forney Ray of Weaverville; and his siblings, William Ray, Olden Ray and Miriam Wilkerson. He is survived by: his wife Harriet Felder Ray; his daughters, Tania Newborn (Billy) of Candler and Ramona Young of Asheville; his grandchildren, Brandon Whiteside of Asheville and Madison Newborn of Greensboro; and his brother Lavonia Ray (Louise) of Asheville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
