It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilburn Carl Buckner (Weaverville, North Carolina), who passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Dollie McHone and William Paul Buckner; his wife Ponese Evelyn Buckner; his son Terry Buckner; and his grandson Timothy Cole.

He is survived by : his children, Vickie Benkelman (Dave) and Jeff Buckner (Cynthia); his sister Dorothy Roberts (Gary); his grandchildren, Jason Cole and Monica Wright (Fredd); his great grandchildren, Garrett Buckner and Issac Webb; his great great grandchild Zeb Webb; and his caregiver Teresa Simpson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
