He was predeceased by: his wife Cindy Wentz; and his daughter Jessica Wentz. He is survived by: his son Kyle Wentz; his daughter-in-law Alicia Wentz; and his grandchildren, Josie Wentz, Will Wentz and Ava Blake.
He gave back generously to his community, serving as treasurer for his children's schools and for charity events for the local YMCA.
