She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy William Whitted and Elsie Huneycutt Whitted of Buncombe County, NC.; her husband Charles Bascom Leonard (Sonny); and her siblings, Verlie Mae Whitted, Betty Joe Whitted, Sara Elizabeth Link and Clarence Whitted.
She is survived by: her daughters, Debbie Tate (Jim) of Trinity and Kim Brown (Larry) of Lexington; her grandchildren, Will Tate, Anna Raye Tate and Kevin Brown (Jessica); and her great grandchildren, Levi Tate and Sophia Tate. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (201 W 3rd Ave, Lexington, NC 27292). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
