He was predeceased by: his parents, Gurnie Ricks and Sadie Ricks; his wife Beverly Ricks; and his siblings, McKinley "Speedy" Ricks Sr., Marvin Ricks Sr., Floyd Ricks, Eddie Lee Ricks, Leroy Ricks Sr., Thelma Hilliard, Gladys Faltz and Bernice Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Elton Lorenzo Ricks Jr. and Tony Ricks (Sophia); his grandchildren, Ashley, Makaila, Olivia and Caleb; his daughter Tabitha Ricks; his grandchildren, James and Taveon; his children, Jonathan Ricks of Cartagena and Taequana Jones; his grandchildren, Brooklyn of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Kaitlyn of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Kingston of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and his siblings, George Wallace Ricks (Mae) of Courtland, VA, Clarence H. Ricks (Cathy) of Newport News, VA and Clara Cornell Turner (Clarence) of Smithfield, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and spiritual sons and daughters.
