He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleveland Corbett Hicks and Mary Nowell; and his siblings, Billy Hicks and Joanne Hinson. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Marie Hicks; his children, Michael Hicks, David Hicks and Lynn Hicks Allmon; and his grandchildren, Braxton Allmon, Maci Allmon, Brenlee Allmon, Bladen Hicks, Christopher Hicks and Corbin Hicks.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory (211 W 3rd St, Wendell, NC 27591). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel (211 W 3rd St, Wendell, NC 27591). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at the Zebulon Town Cemetery.
