He was predeceased by: his parents, Newbern Watkins, Sr. and Annie Bell Bullock Watkins; and his brothers, Newbern Watkins, Jr., James Roy Watkins and Lonnie Thomas Watkins.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Yvonne Turnage Watkins; and his stepchildren, Jeanetta Bennett (Jeff) and Henry Woodard. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchild, sisters, extended family, friends, neighbors.
Viewing was held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the William Toney's Funeral Home (216 E Barbee St, Zebulon, NC 27597). Visitation was held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Eagle Rock Christian Church (6471 Falconwood Dr, Wendell, NC 27591). A celebration of life was held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
