He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Black and Lula McKenzie Black; his wife Peggy Black; his brothers, Leon Black and Bill Black; and his son-in-law Timothy Stone.
He is survived by: his children, Robin Prim (Robert) of Carthage, Lynn Stone of Carthage and Wilkesboro; and his brothers, Earl Black of Robbins and James Black of Fayetteville. He is also survived by six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sanctuary Culdee Presbyterian Church (916 NC-73, West End, NC 27376). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Culdee Presbyterian Church (916 NC-73, West End, NC 27376).
