He is survived by: his sons, Aaron Hines (Stacy) of Greenville, NC and Tim Hines (Melissa) of Kansas City, MO; his grandbuddies, Jacob Hines, Savannah Hines, Dallas Hines, Austin Hines and Nolan Hines; his nieces, Karen Stutts and Angela York; Don, Mary Farlow, Lowell, Molly Farlow, Paul, Amy Brown, Mark, Janet, Dickinson, Catherine, Brandon Teng, Brian, Anna Carper, Nate, Bethany, Matt, Abbey Brown, Jake, Jenna, Josie Dickinson, Kellan, Emery, Ari Teng, Rowan, Conrad, Lena, Carper, Zion and Mabel Brown.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, November 27th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Boone Family Funeral Home (2005 Mt Jefferson Rd, West Jefferson, NC 28694). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 27th 2026 at 2:15 PM at the Boone Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services (2005 Mt Jefferson Rd, West Jefferson, NC 28694). Al volunteered in various ways during Covid, after the Hurricane Helene disaster, and any other local project he could for his church and community.
