He is survived by: his wife Linda; his sons, Rusty Barr (Melissa) and Chris Barr; his grandchildren, Avery Barr (BethAnn), Olivia May (Zak) and Emery Barr; his stepgrandchildren, Sid Carpenter (Katilin) and Jesse Carpenter (Alejandra); his great grandchildren, Sophia May, Basel Barr and Henry May; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Hayes Carpenter, Landrey Carpenter and Smith Carpenter; his sisters, Elizabeth Johnson, Jane Ring, Anne Wagoner (Hoke) and Susan McNeill (Terry); his brother-in-law David Lambert (Lynn); and his family Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mount Jefferson Presbyterian Church (201 S Jefferson Ave, West Jefferson, NC 28694). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
