He was predeceased by: his parents, Sharpe Shoemaker and Evelyn Brown Shoemaker. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Allmon Shoemaker; his daughter Marjorie Vankirk (Jamey) of Charlotte; his stepchildren, Heather Stone of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Shannon Stone of San Francisco, California; his siblings, David Shoemaker of West Jefferson and Anne McGuire-Haskel of West Jefferson; and his grandchildren, Evelyn Vankirk and Jax Vankirk.
