He was predeceased by: his parents, Hildreth McCauley Pettitt and Artie Mae Reid Pettitt; and his brothers, Glenn Thomas Pettitt, Charles McCauley Pettitt, Victor "Allen" Pettitt and Donald Gray Pettitt.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Pettitt; his children, Joel Blaine Pettitt (Penny Pettitt) and April Pettitt Bullins (Roger Bullins); his grandchildren, Joshua K. Bullins (Amber Bullins), Ethan W. Bullins (Julianne Bullins), Maria Huffman and Kelly Keith; and his great grandchildren, Abigail Trotter, Emma Bullins, Aubree Bullins, Erynn Bullins and Reid Bullins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Faith Baptist Church (1056 Taylor Rd, Westfield, NC 27053). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
