Dannie leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dannie’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Dannie will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his father Kenneth "Canus" Sawyers; and his brother David Sawyers. He is survived by: his mother Reva Bowman Sawyers Thurston; his wife Shelby Pack Sawyers; his son Eric Daniel Sawyers (Ashley); and his grandchildren, Hayley Marie Sawyers and Chase Daniel Sawyers.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Brown Mountain Baptist Church (2269 North Carolina Hwy 66 N, Westfield, NC 27053). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the same location.
