He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Brookhart and Elsie Mae Brookhart; his siblings, Artis Hughes, Veda Hughes and Arlin Hughes; and his daughter Jodi Erin Brookhart.
He is survived by: his wife Harriette Lancaster Brookhart; his children, Marcy Cooper (Taylor) of Pinehurst and Benjamin Brookhart (Julie) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Casey Cooper (Ryan), Carly Cooper, Clay Cooper and Charlie Brookhart; his great grandchild Eleanor Laton; his sister-in-law Effie Labrecque; his nieces, Arlene Morris (Kelly), Deanne Brooks (Greg), Robin Stotka (Chris) and Joanna Fontaine (Alan); and his nephew Trey Labrecque (Susan).
