He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Henry "Bo" McWilliams and Mable Johnson McWilliams; and his sister Judith Annette McWilliams. He is survived by: his sisters, Ruby McWilliams of Roanoke Rapids and Shelia Green (Kelvin) of Fayetteville; his uncles, Winfred McWilliams of Randallstown and Joe Johnson of Enfield; his nieces, Crystal Harrison (Antonio) of Roanoke Rapids, Labria Harris (Gregory) of Roanoke Rapids and Kavia McWilliams of Raleigh; his great-nephew Joshua Burnell, Jr.; and his close friend Everline Richardson of Roanoke Rapids. He is also survived by six nephews; three great-nephews; one great-great-nephew.
