With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Proctor (Whiteville, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 16, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Cartrette and Hettie Cartrette; her husband Bobby Proctor, Sr.; and her siblings, Paul Cartrette, Charles Cartrette, David Cartrette, Judy Griffin, Agnes Cribb and Brenda Edwards.
She is survived by: her children, Bobby Proctor, Jr. (Tricia) of Lake Waccamaw, Terry Skiles of Indiana, Toni Osborne (Virgil), Vicki Ribal of Oregon and Charmin Strickland (Berry) of Tabor City; and her brothers, Horace Cartrette of Winston Salem, NC and Ralph Cartrette (Elsie) of Chadbourn, NC..
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cherry Grove Baptist Church (9833 Swamp Fox Hwy W, Cerro Gordo, NC 28430).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare 206 Warrior Trail Rd., Whiteville, NC 28472.
