She was predeceased by : her parents, Grady Theodore Smith and Frances Long Smith of Missouri; her husband Malcolm A. Pierce; her children, Barbara Dean Pierce Rotunda and William Angelo Pierce; her grandchild Aubrey Cartrette; and her siblings, Helen Gray Smith and Bobby Lay Smith.

She is survived by : her children, Malcolm "Buddy" Pierce (Avonda) of Whiteville and Helen Pierce Gore (Frankie) of Whiteville; her sisters, Patricia Smith Harper (Roger) of Harrisburg, NC, Linda Faye Smith Jordan of Myrtle Beach, SC and Brenda Hinson of Whiteville; her grandchildren, Angie Ward Reaves (Matt), Denise Ward (Keith) and Roy Dillon Gore (Blair); and her great grandchildren, Brooklyn Melany Gore, Roy Dale Gore, Beau Malcolm Gore, Renee'Dean Gore and Luke Allen Cartrette.
