It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew Gordon Townsend Jr. of Whiteville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 7, 2023, at the age of 23, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his stepfather Scott Lee Nail; and his grandfather Daniel Lawson Gore. He is survived by : his parents, Matt Gordon Townsend and Natasha Hope Gore; his brother Lawson Sadler Townsend; and his grandparents, Clarence Gordon Townsend, Gail Worrell Townsend and Vickie Fisher Worley. He is also survived by many uncles, cousins, and friends.
