He was predeceased by: his father Arthur Duncan; his stepfather Nathan McCormick; his mother Mattie Duncan McCormick; and his brother-in-law Charles Long. He is survived by: his siblings, Dianna Long of Whiteville, Harry Lee (Donna) of Whiteville, Perry McCormick (Phyllis) of Whiteville, Betty Valente' (Al) of Wilmington and Nathan McCormick, Jr. (Lorraine) of Winnabow. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
