She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Smith and Ella Herwick Smith; her husband Rodney Boyce Storms; and her sister Linda Wall. She is survived by: her children, Rodney Boyce Storms, Jr. of Whiteville, Kathie Yocco (Dean) of Savannah, GA, Michael of Whiteville and Mark Storms of Whiteville; her sister Nancy Ellen Smith of New Jersey; and her caregivers, Carleen Bennett, Jennifer Juhasz, Sharon Spivey and Thetus Tatum. She is also survived by "Bestie" which means grandmother in Norwegian to 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Western Prong Baptist Church (167 Peacock Rd, Whiteville, NC 28472). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jimmy V. Foundation and also the Alzheimer's Association.
